What are genital warts? What causes them?
Genital warts are growths over various sizes and shapes which appear on or near the genitalia. Externally, they manifest themselves as either flat patches or they might appear as clusters of bumps. Can genital warts be prevented?

Using condoms might prevent some types of genital warts, but there are many classifications of HPV which result in genital warts, and condoms do not protect against all of them. To prevent infection with HPV, a new vaccine has been created called Gardasil. This must be administered to girls at a young age before they begin sexual activity. The Gardasil vaccine does not guarantee that the patient will not get genital warts and HPV infection chances, though lessened, are still present.
